TaeKwon-Do is an ancient martial art. The tradition handed down through the generations are preserved here in our dojang.
-
TaeKwon-Do Protocol
-Bow to the flags upon entering and leaving dojang.
-Inside the dojang, address your black belt instructor as Kyosah-Nim (our instructor). Always address master level instructors (5. dan and above) as Sahbum-Nim (our master instructor).
-TaeKwon-Do is built upon respect. Students should respect themselves, other students, senior ranks, and their families.
-Always help others, but only instruct others if you have been asked by your instructor to do so.
-
Class Protocol
-Line up according to rank. Within a given rank, adults should line up before children. If someone has tested before you (earlier date), you should line up after them.
-Always “answer up” when called upon, and run into position.
-During class breaks, stretch or sit cross legged without leaning on walls.
-Execute all commands instantly and with enthusiasm.
-Do not talk during class or during class breaks (when you are seated while others are performing).
-Always use caution to avoid accidental injury to others around you and to yourself.
-Please make every attempt to arrive on time for class. If you know you will be late (but no more than five minutes), notify the instructor in advance.
-If you have to leave the class early, tell the instructor in advance. If it is more than fifteen minutes, you should not take the class.
-
Dojang Rules
-Drugs and alcohol are not allowed in the dojang, nor is anyone permitted to enter the dojang if they are under the influence of any alcohol or drug.
-No smoking, gum chewing or eating in the dojang. All beverages should be imbibed outside the training area.

-
Attire

-Always wear a clean uniform with proper patches.
-Please do not wear any jewelry (rings, necklaces, toerings, etc…) during training.
-
Discipline
-Use time before and after class for independent practice.
-Always strive to achieve the aims (Five Tenets) of TaeKwon-Do, both in and out of the dojang: courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control, and indomitable spirit.
-Always try your best, and work as hard as hard as you can.
-Never get discouraged. Progress is slow.
-Compare yourself only to yourself – not to others.
